“Home Dock” was conceived as a Red Dot Award 2023 submission — a smart, mobile inverter designed to function as an intelligent energy hub within the home.
The concept integrated Wi-Fi connectivity for remote control via smartphone, swappable battery modules for scalability, individualized voltage control for connected devices, and a movable form factor that allowed it to adapt to different household zones.
A key design intent was to give the product a subtle “face,” humanizing it beyond a conventional appliance. Building on this idea, the visualization introduced a gentle canine-inspired persona — portraying Home Dock as a loyal, responsive companion moving through the house and proactively managing energy needs. This narrative approach balanced emotional relatability with technical clarity.
Delivered within a nine-day timeline, the project encompassed storytelling development, art direction, animation, and final presentation assets, positioning the concept as a forward-thinking addition to the evolving smart home ecosystem and supporting broader innovation conversations within the company.
